From traditional plastics to biodegradable plastics

The output of biodegradable plastics is too small, and there is still a lack of systematic and large-scale recycling and processing methods.
When it comes to garbage sorting, many people worry about the need to shake the wet kitchen waste out of the garbage bag when throwing away the garbage. Therefore, biodegradable wet garbage bags have become popular, and people hope to throw the biodegradable garbage bags and wet garbage into the wet garbage can. However, the garbage disposal department pointed out that although "degradable garbage bags" will mostly degrade, they still have non-degradable, even toxic and harmful ingredients, which will affect the treatment of wet garbage.

  Potential threat of biodegradable plastics
Although biodegradable plastics can be biodegraded, it does not mean that they will eventually break the difficulties of recycling and be degraded in a low-hazard manner; when the biodegradable plastics are not effectively recycled, they enter the landfill. , They will decompose a large amount of greenhouse gas, which is methane, in an oxygen-free environment.
When the biodegradable plastic enters the marine environment because it has not been effectively recycled, the efficiency of biodegradation will be greatly reduced because of the low ocean temperature and lack of sufficient microorganisms and oxygen. And because they cannot be degraded in time, these degradable plastics still have a high probability of causing harm to marine life before they are completely degraded.
When the environmental impact of degradable plastics still exists, the degradable plastics will still cause environmental problems. If we mistakenly believe that degradable plastics are low or even harmless at this time, and increase the use of "degradable" plastic products, the overall environmental impact may be greater than that of traditional plastics. Not to mention, the current definition of biodegradable plastics is still vague. When plastics that “degrade only in an ideal environment can take a long time to degrade” under the name of "degradable plastics" are mixed into the market, the resulting environment The harm only increases.

Biodegradable plastics can alleviate the waste problem
In summary, if you use biodegradable plastics to replace traditional plastics, you can save 4% of global fossil fuels, reduce global carbon emissions by 2.3%, and save global energy consumption by 2%. Even if we only replace all disposable plastics with biodegradable plastics, it can achieve more than half of the results. But at the same time, replacing single-use plastic products with degradable plastics will consume more than half of the world's corn production, and cause risks caused by methane, pesticides, fertilizers, and other reasons that cannot be degraded in time. Therefore, it needs to be emphasized that "degradable" does not mean that this plastic product can be simply and harmlessly processed. It will still cause a series of energy consumption, carbon emissions, food shortages and other problems.
According to the current level of technology, "biodegradable plastic" is a way to alleviate the garbage problem. It is not yet a solution to the problem, and degradable plastic products cannot be used unscrupulously because of the term "degradable".

  The formation of PLA tableware
PLA is made of starch raw materials proposed by renewable plant resources (corn, cassava, etc.). Wholesale tableware, environmentally friendly plastic is a new type of bio-based and renewable biodegradable material, which has good biodegradability. After use, it can be completely degraded by microorganisms in nature.
The industrialization project of starch bio-based fully degradable material products uses starch as the basic raw material and is processed with a fully degradable polymer carrier through special equipment to form high-quality biomaterials with thermoplastic properties that can be fully biodegradable. This new type of material has good ductility, tensile strength and use strength, and can be processed by plastic machinery for the second time. It degrades quickly and is pollution-free. It is a green and environmentally friendly high-quality degradable material.

With the implementation of the "plastic ban" order, biodegradable plastics and related products in the industry have become emerging materials. In the direction of the market, Hyde’s degradable products have been deployed in the market in advance, paving the way for the “plastic ban” in advance. The "plastic relationship" between mankind and nature is degraded in advance, and green and shared ecology.
